Our Verdict
The AND1 Rocket is a surprisingly capable shoe for casual and youth play at $20-28. Its diamond-pattern traction is not as sophisticated as the herringbone on the Attack, but it grips acceptably on clean hardwood. Cushioning is the weakest point — the thin EVA midsole is fine for 1-hour sessions but fatiguing for longer play. If you play casually or need an affordable option for kids, the Rocket delivers. For serious recreational players, spend $10-15 more on the Attack.
- Exceptional value at $20-28 — hard to beat in price bracket
- Adequate traction for clean indoor gym surfaces
- Lightweight — doesn't feel heavy or restrictive
- Good for youth players who outgrow shoes quickly
- Thin EVA midsole — fatiguing for 2+ hour sessions
- Diamond traction pattern less grippy than herringbone on Attack
- Outsole wears faster than Attack or Zone
- Not recommended for intense competitive play

What Buyers Say
"Bought two pairs for my twin boys (ages 10). Perfect for school gym — they love the look and at this price I can replace them when the kids outgrow them without guilt. Good grip, no slipping."
"Decent for the price but my feet got sore after 2-hour pickup games. Fine for shorter sessions. The traction is good but the cushioning just isn't there. I ended up spending the extra $15 to get the Attack."
